St Agnes Church

$4,750.00

Size 50” x 30”

Framed with strong leading lines to draw our eyes upwards to heaven, this church’s pulpit hosted Mother Theresa just three decades ago. Since then, scrappers have moved in and stripped the once ornate and decadent church of all of its contents. Now all that remains is a magnificent edifice which evokes memories of a bygone age - a powerful visual reminder us that nothing is permanent.

This piece is part of Adam’s “Abandoned Spaces” series that explores the beauty that can be found in the decay of all dilapidated places.

The reverse acrylic subframe provides a sleek and contemporary finish to this piece. This framing technique involves a fine art C-Type photographic print mounted between a sheet of perspex and an aluminium-backing sheet. It removes the need for a heavy frame, eliminates unwanted light reflections and comes with a subframe on the back, making it easy to hang (it is much lighter than a frame with glass). It also allows the piece to sit virtually flush to a wall when hung, adding to its modern aesthetic.
