People often ask me if this house is staged as it looks so surreal! I stumbled across it once when driving through the mid-West of America and had to re-visit it a number of times waiting for the perfect 'eerie' sky to reflect it's creepiness and pure strangeness. Despite its state of dilapidation, I feel that one can still find a sense of beauty in its rich colours and find on the house a toy reminding them of their childhood, leaving us to ponder how all spaces and moments are fleeting and transient.
This C-Type Fine Art Photographic Print is part of my "Abandoned Spaces" Series", is mounted on a reverse acrylic sub-frame and arrives ready to hang.
It is 50" x 30", part of an edition of 50 and comes signed with a Certificate of Authenticity.

The reverse acrylic subframe provides a sleek and contemporary finish to this piece. This framing technique involves a fine art C-Type photographic print mounted between a sheet of perspex and an aluminium-backing sheet. It removes the need for a heavy frame, eliminates unwanted light reflections and comes with a subframe on the back, making it easy to hang (it is much lighter than a frame with glass). It also allows the piece to sit virtually flush to a wall when hung, adding to its modern aesthetic.
